This is a real joy, an honour and a tremendous responsibility to preside over the Hispanic Arts Society. An organization that for 33 years has impacted Canada’s – and the world’s – Hispanic artists.
I am very excited to be part of an exceptional team at the Society that includes our dedicated board, executive team, staff and volunteers.
Since the Society’s inception in 1987, the former executive board worked towards the presentation of major productions such as the hispanic festival “EXPO LATINO”, Calgary’s Hottest Outdoor Festival, and Western Canada’s Largest Latin Festival.
This year marks the 24th year of the Festival. As one of the longest-running Latin festivals in Canada, we take great pride in the level of excellence of our local and international artists.
I hope you will come and enjoy Expo Latino 2021! With your continued support we can ensure the success of the Festival for many years to come.
The Society is based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We incorporated on June 26, 1987 as a non profit society and since then we have and continue to stage with tremendous success. Our primary Mandate and Objectives are:
Our basic foundation values, the values upon which all we do is based:
The annual Expo Latino Festival in Calgary celebrates the diverse culture and heritage of city’s diverse Latino population. The three-day event features folkloric and contemporary dance and musical performances, authentic mouth-watering cuisine from Ibero-american countries, traditional arts and crafts and hands-on children’s activities and inflatables.
